Three Things People Say After Getting Storage

You’d be surprised what people say once they’ve moved their stuff into storage.

Most of the time, it’s a variation of one of these three things. We hear them all the time – and if you’ve ever used a unit, you’ll probably nod along too.

1. “Should’ve done this sooner.”

This is the big one.

People turn up stressed. They’ve been tripping over boxes for months or living in a house that feels like it’s bursting at the seams. Then they fill the unit, shut the door and suddenly… their shoulders drop.

The space at home feels bigger. They can get into the spare room again. The garage door actually closes. And without fail, they say it:-

“Should’ve done this sooner.”

2. “Didn’t realise how much stuff we had.”

This one usually comes mid move.

It starts with a few boxes, then a chest of drawers, then the sofa, then the mystery box labelled “random cables.” Before you know it, the back of the car’s been filled five times and the storage unit is looking fuller than expected.

You don’t really see your stuff when it’s spread out around the house. But once it’s all in one place?

“Didn’t realise we had this much…”

It’s a bit of a reality check and occasionally the start of a good clear out.

3. “That was easier than I thought.”

A lot of people put off getting storage because they think it’ll be complicated. Paperwork, long contracts, hidden costs, access issues. But once they actually get here and realise it’s straightforward, they’re often a bit surprised.

You bring your stuff. You lock the unit. You use your code to come and go during access hours. That’s it.

No call centres. No hassle.

We’re not saying storage will change your life. But it might clear your hallway. Or save your relationship with the loft hatch. Either way, if you do end up needing it – you’ll probably say one of these too.
And we won’t say we told you so.
